Join the GLP-1 PRIORITY 2025 lunch, where senior decision-makers from industry, science, and medicine convene to discuss the commercialization, pricing, and future impacts of GLP-1s. Discussion will be led by KPMG’s Chief Economist Diane Swonk, with major corporate strategic insights and data analytics provided by TRIPTK’s Global CEO Sam Hornsby, AND industry, science, and medicine experts seated at the various tables.

Attendees represent cross-sectors—liquor, airlines, food and beverage, consumer goods, retail, and pharmaceuticals—collectively steering over $100 billion in market value and reshaping how Americans live, spend, and travel.

Sector-Wide Financial Impact

  • Food & Grocery: GLP-1 adoption will reduce U.S. grocery spending by up to $90 billion by 2031; snacks and soft drinks alone may lose $7–8 billion annually. GLP-1 users spend 6% less on groceries, with produce up 55%.

  • Restaurants: Chains specializing in high-calorie menus face 1–2% drops in growth, as 63% of GLP-1 users spend less on restaurants.

  • Alcohol & Beverage: Alcohol sales have already fallen 1.4% annually due to GLP-1 use, while functional drinks hit a $4.7 billion market, growing 11%.

  • Airlines: Weight loss among travelers could save major carriers $80 million annually in fuel costs alone, plus boost travel activity among healthier populations.

  • Pharmaceuticals: The GLP-1 market is poised to top $150 billion annually by 2030, with oral formulas massively expanding access.

Patents & Oral Pill Innovation Changing Market Dynamics

  • Patent Cliff: Over 200 blockbuster drugs—including injectable GLP-1s—will lose exclusivity between 2025 and 2030, exposing $236 billion in global pharma sales to price erosion and competition from generics. Semaglutide patents expire as early as 2026 in some countries, and by 2032 in the U.S..

  • Oral GLP-1s are expected to boost global market size to $121 billion by 2034, accelerate adoption rates, and make weight loss and metabolic health solutions as easy as a daily pill.

Why Attend

By 2030, 30 million Americans—9% of the population—will use GLP-1s, with oral formulas sparking the next wave of growth so profound it will reshape competition, innovation, and access for every sector involved. From food giants to airlines, beverage brands to retailers, and pharma to digital health, every industry will feel the impact.
